Like any purchase, it is important to keep on top of the maintenance of your awning.
You may find yourself packing away a wet or damp awning, it is important to pull the awning back out when you have a chance to allow the awning to completely dry. This will prevent the awning from moulding and increase its longevity. We find lightly hosing the awning poles while airing out the awning will prevent any salt corrosion.
One of the few things overlooked when it comes to awning maintenance is the awning bag's zip seizing over time from sea spray or mud. Applying some form of lubrication such as WD40 on the zip will assist with this.
