2020 - Current Subaru Outback Base Model/Touring Model (Including New XT/Turbo Variants) With Flip-out Roof Rails/Crossbars:
2 Bar Roof Rack Options:
- Currently, the only replacement roof racks for the flip-out rails/crossbars is the Yakima Jetstream 2 Bar system.
The factory Subaru rails are rated to 80kgs, however only 68kgs when set/used as crossbars/racks and rather flimsy and can rattle when not carrying any load.
This system allows you to carry more gear as it increases the physical space on the roof racks, as well as allowing the attachment of accessories such as awnings, bike carriers, kayak carriers, and universal baskets/platforms etc.
Not only does it give you the ability to mount additional carriers, but it also increases your load rating to 75kgs (Limited by load rating of Yakima specifications), minus the weight of the roof rack system (5.5kgs).
(Note, these are currently in Australia but not listed on Roof Racks Galore or Yakima sites. Will be listed in the coming months.)

2020 - Current Subaru Outback Sport Model (Including New XT/Turbo Variant) With Raised Roof Rails:
2 Bar Roof Rack Options:
- Both Thule and Yakima have a broad range of 2 Bar Roof Rack Systems for this model with varying load ratings. These are set by the Roof Rack manufacturer and specify the maximum weight that each specific roof rack system can hold.
The Outback Sport raised rails are rated for 90kgs dynamic and 317kgs static.

Platform Options:
- Currently, there are only 2 platform options listed for the Outback Sport variants.
The Yakima Lock n Load platform, which connects directly to the vehicle roof rails via a 4 legs system (2 per side).
This system has a product load rating of 100kgs (however you must refer to your owner's manual for the vehicle manufacturer's load ratings). And has an overall weight of 26.3kgs.
This particular fitment does sit above the roof rails by a reasonable amount, however, this can provide better head height for any awnings off the side of the vehicle and theoretically, less chance of any major wind noise.

This system is excellent quality, looks clean and tidy and compliments the look of the Outback Sport nicely.
This platform allows for the attachment of accessories from Front Runners' massively extensive range, to carry almost anything and everything possible.
This system also comes with a wind fairing, which will reduce any potential wind noise, but can be easily removed when mounting accessories such as led light bars.
