Do Rear Cargo Carriers Need lights and license plates?

With every Rear Cargo Carrier if the carrier blocks the view of your license plate or taillights, it might be illegal. Be sure to check the laws in your state.

If your Rear Cargo Carriers blocks your license plate or taillights you can purchase what is called a Lightboard this usually straps to you Rear cargo Carrier and plugs into your towbar.

The two plugs that are most common are the 7-pin and 13-pin plugs and come in either a round or flat plug. Some of these Lightboards will come with either of these but if your vehicle is different to what your Lightboard has you can also purchase an adapter to convert the plug to match your vehicle.
