What size Roof Box/Pod do I need to get?

There are a few things that you will need to consider before choosing which Roof Box/Pod.

One of the things you need to consider is the size of the vehicle that you want to use the Roof box on, not all sizes will fit every car for e.g. an XXL Roof Box wont work on a small hatch back like a hyundai i30.

Another thing to consider is if your vehicles Roof Racks have a fixed mount position or they can be adjustable in position. If the Roof Racks are in a fixed position this might effect what size Roof Box you can buy.

You should also take into consideration how the back door of your vehicle opens, some cars like hatch backs or SUVs have a lift up tailgate with a built on wind defuser. This can effect how much roof you have to use as it my require the Roof Box to mount further forward or possibly having to pick a smaller Roof Box.

Last thing you should also consider when choosing a Roof Box is what kind of gear you are looking to take on your trip.

For e.g. you may need a larger Roof Box if your planning on carrying a pram and some bags, but a smaller size Roof Box will most likely not fit all of this in or your planning on taking a kayak or a bike with you so a narrow size Roof Box would be the best choice as it will leave you enough room on the Roof Racks to mount a carrier suitable for these items and still be able to pack your clothes, sleeping bags or blanket's in the Roof Box.
