Can I mount anything on top of my roof top tent?

Not all roof top tents have the ability to mount racks or accessories on top. This is generally a hardshell tent feature as they have a strong shell to handle the extra weight.

To mount things like surfboards, SUP boards and solar panels most hardshell tents will come with an accessory channel built into the top of the tent to accommodate a set of roof racks which would allow to carry these items.
